The Ford Outpost is a traditional African bush camp created in honour of the region’s 1820 Settler heritage, offering hunters an authentic and character-rich base in the Eastern Cape. Set on a private farm adjacent to one of the Eastern Cape’s premier Big Five game reserves, the camp is conveniently located just outside Kenton-on-Sea.

 

Designed to reflect the charm of earlier safari eras, The Ford Outpost delivers a rustic yet comfortable hunting camp experience, blending old-world atmosphere with practical comforts. Furnishings by Melvill & Moon, inspired by the 1800s, reinforce the camp’s historical character and safari tradition.

 

A central mess tent serves as the heart of the camp, featuring a simple kitchen, dining area, bar, and comfortable lounge—ideal for relaxing and sharing stories after a day in the field. Open-air bathrooms are fitted with flushing toilets and reliable hot water, ensuring comfort without losing the authentic bush-camp feel.
